Description
The Chitina Ranger Station is a must-stop for anyone visiting Chitina or venturing down the McCarthy Road to Kennecott, as it features interpretive exhibits, trip planning, road updates, park and area information, and subsistence permits for eligible local rural residents.
The log cabin station is also decorated with historic photographs featuring the town of Chitina as a transportation hub, 'where the rails meet the trails.'

Shelter with Two tables, toilets and parking spots available.

Its also the start of the McCarthy road, it's not as bad as is written. The first 16miles is paved and There are potholes etc, the rest is not paved. And it's better. So no worries and take a scenic drive it's beautiful there.
