Description

The Alpine Historical Park is an open air historical park, playground and museum with self-guided tours, allowing community members and visitors to look back in time to understand the heritage and cultures of the early settlers of the Sutton and Chickaloon area. This includes the Ahtna-Dene (Athabascan) culture, coal mining, and construction of the Glenn Highway.

Walk around the gardens and see the remains of the Sutton coal wash plant and various historic coal mining equipment. There is a large adventure playground for the kids and some exercise equipment. A great place to stop.
