During the summer, Valdez Glacier Lake becomes a beautiful area to kayak on, as this glacier-fed lake is approximately 640 feet deep. There are even various outfitters in Valdez who will guide visitors on kayak tours.
On the other hand, the lake becomes a frozen wonderland in the winter, where massive icebergs form into amazing natural sculptures, and ice skating, snowshoeing, skiing, or snowmobiling are possible.

The glacier recently broke away and we were very lucky to see icebergs all over the lake so close to the car park. Kayak tours out to the glacier leave from here.
