Description

Overnight camping near Tucson is possible at Catalina State Park, offering 120 electric and water sites, with a picnic table and a BBQ grill at each site. The park has modern flush restrooms with hot, clean showers, and RV dump stations. Within the park is the Visitor Center, which features a small gift shop carrying some items such as postcards, maps, books, field guides, drinking water, snacks, sunscreen, hats, and shirts. At Catalina State Park, guests can hike, take a horseback ride, and bicycle on the trails, surrounded by the towering Santa Catalina Mountains. There are also multi-use eight trails at the park, that bring amazing views to hikers and dogs who came with their owners. The park also offers six group areas for reservation, where Ringtail, Flycatcher, Granite, and Gila Monster areas can be reserved for day use or overnight camping, and the picnic Area and Romero Ruins are only for day use.
