Description
This dispersed camping site could be deserted, depending on the month or season you visit. It is located about 8 miles from town, and a quarter mile from I-10 but highway noise isn't that loud. There are a lot of hiking and biking trails you can try, some even ride their ATVs, too.
You can bring your dogs, but some guests warn about the cactus bulbs that fall off and gets blown by the wind. These can create a carpet of thorns which is dangerous for your dogs.

Free camping in nice desert setting. Lots of space, can park close to I-10 or far enough not to hear any noise. Road marked 'rough' isnt really till you get a couple miles in.
