Nestled in the northern section of Tonto National Forest, Houston Mesa Campground features 74 campsites, with 29 being equestrian sites for campers with horses or mules, and 17 tent-only sites for those who want a quieter experience. Campers will be greeted by onsite coin-operated showers and flush toilets. The pet-friendly and accessible campground does not offer water or electric hookups, but there is a black water dump station and a fresh water fill station in the area. Visitors can take on various activities, including horseback riding, hiking, and picnicking.
