Description
Named after the fabled lost gold mine, Lost Dutchman State Park is located at the base of the Superstition Mountains, where several trails lead from the park into the Superstition Mountain Wilderness and surrounds Tonto National Forest. Campers can enjoy a weekend of camping and experience native wildlife including mule deer, coyote, javelina and jackrabbit. Those who aren't into hiking can try out the four mile mountain bike loop trail at the pet-friendly park.
The campground itself has 138 sites, with 68 sites equipped with 20, 30, or 50amp electric and water, while the remainder non-hookup sites are on paved roads for tents or RVs. Each site has a picnic table and a fire pit with an adjustable grill gate.
