Description
Vulture Mountains Recreation Area boasts a low-elevation mountain range, with major access by way of U.S. Route 60. Its history dates back to 1863, after Henry Wickenburg discovered the Vulture Mine, a small mining town was established in the area. When the mine closed, the city was deserted and became a ghost town, with some of the structures still present in what once was known as Vulture City located in the mountain.
