Bull Pen is a popular day use area at Coconino National Forest, and is the trailhead for several trails in the area, such as Blodgett Basin Trail, West Clear Creek Trail and West Clear Creek Wilderness. Overnight camping is prohibited in the area, and there is no garbage service, so all trash must follow the "Pack It In, Pack It Out" rule. FS618 (1/2 mile north of Clear Creek CG off Rt 260) has several dispersed campsites. The site where we stayed is on FS215 which veers to the right. Dirt road is a little rough but no problem for our Sprinter van. A hike trail is at the end of FS215 - West Clear Creek Trail. Last mile to trailhead is quite rough in spots. We happily stayed an extra night in this area!
