Description

Experience a family home and a curio in one that has existed for more than a century at Verkamp's Visitor Center, which is a short walk from El Tovar Hotel and Hopi House. Grand Canyon Conservancy staff and National Park Service rangers will be more than eager to answer any questions about the park, and there are daily ranger-led history walks that start at the center. Awe at the interpretive exhibits at the center that tell the story of Grand Canyon Village, including what it was like to live and work at Grand Canyon in the early years. Walk through the history timeline and see the important moments in local, national, and international history. Visitors can also stop by the center to make use of the water filling station and public restroom facilities behind the Visitor Center.
