Description
One of the most famous individual petrified tree specimens at Petrified Forest National Park, the Agate Bridge is a log bridge that spans 110 feet. According to its history, it was carried downstream to a floodplain where it was buried in sediment after it died. It then began its petrification process after being limited the amount of oxygen it needs, and the entire tree has been replaced with the silica that is visible today.
The bridge features sweeping views of the National Park System that is perfect for photography.
