Description
The Arizona State Museum (ASM) was established in 1893, and originally a repository for the collection and protection of archaeological resources. It is the largest and oldest anthropological research museum in the U.S. Southwest, and provides education and research opportunities, along with storing artifacts and archived documents. Formed by the authority of the Arizona Territorial Legislature, the museum is operated by the University of Arizona, and is located on the university campus in Tucson.
