Description
From the trailhead, Blue Mesa Trail is a 1.6km loop descending from the mesa, and offers the unique experience of hiking among badland hills of bluish bentonite clay and petrified wood. Hikers can see numerous plant and animal fossils that have been found by paleontologists in the sedimentary layers of Blue Mesa.
