Description

Just 20 minutes from downtown Phoenix, Camelback Mountain gets its name from the stunningly unique silhouette it casts on the skyline, and is considered as one of the country's top hiking destinations. It comprises of two trails that have been rated as extremely difficult due to their steep elevation gains, uneven terrain, and sections of hand-over-hand climbing. The Cheolla Trail has been closed for maintenance since March 2020, and only the Echo Canyon Trailhead has been open for hikers. This trailhead has restrooms, benches and water on-site, as well as a parking lot. Visitors can expect an assistance of handrails to reach the 360-degree views from the summit.
