Description

Known as the highest viewpoint accessible to visitors by trail, Dobbins Lookout on South Mountain was named after James C. Dobbins, the chairman of the Phoenix Planning Commission who spearheaded the efforts to purchase the land. Hikers can expect an observation at the lookout, with a compass that has a series of demarcations on the top to point visitors towards different landmarks around the valley, such as the Camelback Mountains, Piestewa Peak, and Phoenix Mountain Preserves.
