Description
Fort Verde State Historic Park is a small park in Camp Verde, which preserves parts of the Apache Wars-era fort in the 1880s. Established in 1970, the park is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, featuring several historic structures such as the main Administration Building, the "0" Mile General Crook Trail Marker, the Commanding Officer Quarters, the Bachelor Officers' Quarters, and the Doctor's and Surgeons Quarters.
Guests can enter the Visitor Center/Park Store, which includes a bookstore, a gift shop, photographs and videos about Indian Scouts. There are eight picnic tables within the park for a quick bite to eat, and a large ramada to the west of the park which is perfect for group events like birthday parties.
