Description
Lowell Observatory is an astronomical observatory in Flagstaff established in 1894, and is among the oldest observatories in the United States. It is a designated National Historic Landmark, and was named one of 'The World's 100 Most Important Places' by TIME.
It was at the Lowell Observatory that the dwarf planet Pluto was discovered in 1930 by Clyde Tombaugh. The observatory offers guided tours which allow guests to make the most of their time at the area. Due to the pandemic, guided tours are strictly limited to 10 people and are done outdoors.
