Formerly an American movie studio, Old Tucson was built in 1939 for the movie Arizona in 1940, and has been used for the filming of many movies and television westerns such as the 1957's Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, 1959's Rio Bravo, and the popular 70s-80s show, Little House on the Prairie. It was opened to the public in 1960, and has become a theme park that offers historical tours about the movies filmed there, along with live cast entertainment featuring stunt shows and shootouts.
