Description
Piestawa Peak, Phoenix Mountains Preserve's second highest point, sits at 2,608 feet with only way up - trailing the strenuous #300 Summit Trail, which is considered as one of Phoneiz's best hikes despite the rocky climb.
Originally called "Vianom Do'ag" (Iron Mountain) by the Tohono O'odham tribe, hikers can expect a grueling climb with a jaw-dropping outcome - a stunning view of Phoenix from above. Dogs are prohibited on Summit Trail, and restrooms are only available at Phoenix Mountains Park and Recreation Area.
