Sabino Canyon Trail, Mount Lemmon, Arizona

Description

Sabino Canyon is located in the Santa Catalina Mountains and near the Coronado National Forest. It is a popular recreation area for both residents of Southern Arizona and visitors of the area, as it provides a place to walk, hike or ride. Tourists can also take a peek of wildlife in the canyon, such as deer, javelina, skunks, rattlesnakes and mountain lions. The beautiful canyon has 12 restrooms throughout the area, and a Family Restroom with a changing table. Sabino Canyon offers shuttles operated by Regional Partnering Center, and tourists can hop on and off at any of the three or nine stops along the route. There are two shuttle routes available: the Upper Sabino Canyon Shuttle and the Bear Canyon Shuttle. The former is a narrated, hour-long ride and departs from the Visitors Center every 30 minutes between 9am and 4pm. The latter is a two-mile, non-narrated ride with three stops, with the final stop being the trail head to Seven Falls. Sabino Canyon also has several hiking trails for adventurers who wish to have more fun exploring the area on foot. While visitor are permitted to bike, bicycling is only allowed before 9am and after 5pm on Sunday, Monday to Tuesday, and Thursday to Friday.
