Description

The Rincon Mountain District of Saguaro National Park (known as Saguaro National Park East) is a stunning outdoor recreation area, which ranges from an elevation of 2,670 ft to 8,666 ft and allows visitors to hike, bike, and picnic with family or friends year-round. The East is home to six biotic communities: the desert scrub, desert grassland, oak woodland, pine-oak woodland, pine forest and mixed conifer forest. The peak is at a considerably higher elevation than the Tucson Mountains, explaining the increased plant and wildlife diversity including the black bear, Mexican spotted owl, Arizona mountain king snake, and white-tailed deer.
