Description

The Tucson Mountain District of Saguaro National Park (aka Saguaro National Park West) is smaller and biologically younger than the East section, and ranges from an elevation of 2,180 ft to 4,687 ft. The West features two biotic communities: the desert scrub and desert grassland, and visitors can catch a glimpse of the common wildlife living in the district including the coyote, Gambel's quail, and desert tortoise. This side of the park also covers about 25,000 acres and stretches from the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, at its southern edge, to the Town of Marana, at its northeast corner.
