Description

Named after Lt. Amiel W. Whipple, leader of an expedition by the U.S. government Whipple Point is one of eight Painted Desert overlooks, which is pointed towards Pintado Point and Pilot Rock, with views of the basalt Bidahochi Formation above the red Chinle Formation of the Painted Desert.
