Description

Beautiful rock formations surround this BLM land where you can freely go dispersed camping. There are no amenities or facilities at all, but the views will suffice to have a wonderful trip. Lots of open space are up for grabs and it will be almost impossible to run into other campers because of how huge the area is. Some movies were filmed here and visitors can enjoy tour those locations. Photography, rock climbing, exploring, and nature viewing are some activities you can also enjoy. Horseback riding and mountain biking are also popular.

Beautiful free campspot within the Alabama Hills. No facilities but you are surrounded by amazing rock formations which you can explore. We arrived in the dark so it was a bit difficult to find a spot as these are scattered across the area. So would recommend arriving in daylight to find a suitable place for the night. Road is okay for a 2wd car.

What a GEM. Beautiful rock formations. Faces in rocks everywhere. Snowy Sierra Nevadas for a back drop. Clear starry skies. Private camp spots behind the rock formations. Our 2 wheel drive van easily handled the dirt roads. Lots of space. Drive in far enough, dont just look at the start. Must bring every. No facilities. The best so far.

Just awesome. Some spots just to reach with higher clearance, but also plenty of spots with lower to find. Go there! Sundown, night sky, sunrise,... gorgeous views!
