You can stay for a maximum of 14 days in dispersed campsites around Cleveland National Forest. Just keep in mind that wood or charcoal fires are never allowed outside of developed campgrounds. Only portable stove using lanterns or gas, kerosene, jellied petroleum, or pressurized liquid fuel are permitted.

One of many dispersed sites along pine creek road. Must contact descanso ranger office for free camping permit. No fires, no charcoal. Decent cell reception, good views and close by to good mtb trails. Good stargazing site too. Usually fairly quite. Need ground clearance to access with vehicle but can park sedan on side of pavement if needed.
