Description
There are plenty of places in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest you can camp in. Lots of side roads and pullouts along this road. Be mindful that some roads are for official access only.
This particular site is a small 'pullout' that hides behind the trees and is set back about 300ft. Easy access for cars. You can take an RV or trailer here but it's not easy to turn around, but easy enough to back out. Enough flat space for 2 tents and 1-2 cars. A bit loud as it is near the road.
A free California Campfire Permit is required for use of a gas stove or lantern and can be obtained at http://permit.preventwildfiresca.org/.
Potable water, toilets, and other amenities are not available. Be sure to bring adequate water or be prepared to purify natural water sources before drinking. Camp at least 200 feet from springs, water, meadows, trails and roads and at least a quarter-mile from designated campgrounds, picnic areas, trailheads, private property and state highways.
If you brought it in with you, then remember to take it out when you leave (Pack It In/Pack It Out).
