A total of 11 walk-in campsites are available at Fossil Falls campground. Drinking water, restroom, tables and fire rings are available on site. Medium-sized RVs can be accommodated here. With a unique volcanic landscape, campers usually hike the Fossil Falls trail which will lead you to what was once a lava flow with melted glaciers some 20,000 years ago. Rappelers and rock climbers flock this area. Bring enough supplies and first aid necessities for your trip. Weather could be extreme in this part so make sure to be prepared for that. Also, lookout for poisonous snakes which are common in this area. Camping fee is $6 a night with a stay limit of 14 days.

Incredible place to view sunrise. Camped here mid December, temperature dropping to -1C. Toilets clean and only 1 other car

Nice and peaceful on a winter weekend night. Only saw 2 other vehicles until daylight when day hikers come to check out the falls. Close to 395, but far enough that we didnt hear road noise. Good stopover for us on way to mammoth.

We were alone and stayed only 20 minutes. Toilet really dirty and we heard so many noises. A mouse went into our campervan!! But great view of the stars
