Description
Grays Meadow has 2 sections, the lower and upper. The lower campground has 52 campsites near Independence Creek while the upper campground has 35 campsites. Some of these sites can be reserved up to 6 months in advance of your intended stay, while most are still on a first come, first serve basis.
Visitors can go fishing at Independence Creek or explore nearby trails and lakes, some leading to Kings Canyon National Park.
Campsites have picnic tables, fire rings, and bear-proof food storage lockers. RVs and trailers up to 34 feet can be accommodated, but no hookups are available in the campground. Flush and vault toilets, along with tap water are located on site. A maximum of 6 people can stay in a single site for as long as 14 days.
Camping fee is $25 a night. Sites 14, 17, 20, and 21 are wheelchair accessible sites. The campground is open from late April to October.
