Description

Perfect spot if you're looking for a hiking basecamp because it is near several hiking trails such as the Rings Loop, Barber Peak Loop, and the Hole-in-the-wall Nature Trail. If you're not into hiking, you can also quietly enjoy watching the beautiful sunrise and sunset while being mesmerized by the volcanic rock walls surrounding the area. Stargazing is a fun activity at night, too. Temperatures rise at day, and drop at night. Winds can be strong as well, make sure to have strong stakes to hold your tent. It costs 12$ a night, with basic facilities such as tables, fire rings, and pit toilets. Water availability may be seasonal. There are 35 available campsites that are on a first-come, first-served basis. No need for reservations. This campground is in a remote location , better load up your supplies before checking in. There is a dump station for RVs but no hookups. Quiet time between 7pm to 7am is being imposed, in that way, all guests can appreciate the serenity of the area.
