Both highway 130 and quimby rd up are nicely paved, though a bit sketchy during nighttime. Rangers were gone at entrance around 1800, but there's a machine to get permit. Very few campers in December.

The Road up is very annoying. You can do some nice hikes from here.8am to ~8pm if you come later the Gate is closed and you need a 4 digit code.

Nice site with showers, water dump etc. for $34. Road up is pretty windy but we managed in a 25ft rv
