Description
A total of 500 campsites can be visited at the Joshua Tree National Park. Most of it needs a reservation especially during holidays, weekends, or in the spring, while some campsites like Hidden Valley, White Tank, and Belle campgrounds are on a first come, first served basis. But like any other campsites, these are easily full on peak days.
Camping fee varies on all sites but ranges from $15 to $25 a night. If you can no longer find a campsite available inside the park, there are overflow campsites outside the park that are managed by BLM. You can also opt to stay in nearby private campgrounds or lodging. Keep in mind that roadside pull overs are not allowed and may be subject to citation.
Wildlife is abundant in this park where two desert ecosystems, Mojave and Colorado, meet. Aside from camping, you can also hike the variety of trails it offers, do rock climbing, or have a ranger-guided tour of the park.
The park itself has an entrance fee of $30 per 7-day limit of a vehicle, exclusive of the fee of the campground you have chosen.
