Tucked in an oak and pine forest, yet within an hour drive from San Diego, Lake Cuyamaca is a perfect camping spot.
It features 17 RV sites in Chambers Park campground and 8 sites in Lone Pine campground, each with electric and water hookups. Picnic table and charcoal grill are also on site. There are bathrooms and coin-operated showers in both campgrounds. You can bring your pets but make sure to keep them on leash.
RV site costs $37 a night, you can stay for a maximum of 14 days. Wood fires are not allowed and there are no dump stations.
Aside from Chamber's Park and Lone Pine, another tent campground in Lake Cuyamaca is West Shore. All these campgrounds have beautiful lake views and bathrooms. Tent sites are $27 a night.
