Description
Most visitors of this campground intend to hike Mt. Whitney. Campers can also explore Alabama Hills and fish at nearby streams. It features 42 single sites, 1 double site, and 1 walk-in group site. Some sites are first come, first serve and some are reservable.
Majestic view of Mt. Whitney as well as other peaks can be admired by the campers at Lone Pine. Picnic tables, fire rings, and bear-proof storage lockers are provided. Vault toilet and tap water are available. Showers can be accessed at Whitney Portal Store for $7.
Camping fee is $26 a night for a single site. A maximum of 6 people can stay in a site for as long as 14 days.

No fee in winter.

Stayed here in early October. The main reason to stay here is the spectacular views. Facilities are well worn but bathrooms were well maintained.

Stayed 2 nights in August. Nice Sites, creek nearby. Reservation is recommended. Spectacular view to Mt Whitney.
