The first of three BLM campgrounds within the Merced River Recreation Management Area is McCabe Flat, which hosts one of the biggest sandy beaches in the area. The description is not right. There is only one drive-in site. The other sites are walk-in tent sites - but very nice! The toilets are clean. There is a beach. Only cash.

First you pass the tent sites before you see the ones suitable for RVs. The envelopes can be found on the info board at the tent sites. Cash only. Stayed there for several nights while visiting Yosemite NP. Our vehicle was 22 ft. long and 13ft. high - needed to calculate exactly when crossing the bridge mentioned in one of the comments but made it without scratches.
