Description

It is the largest campground in Smith River National Recreation Area. Lots of trees surround the camp providing shade while huckleberry bushes give privacy to each site. A short walk will lead to a picnic area where Smith River can be seen. It has a total of 38 sites which can be reserved in advance. Picnic tables, fire rings, water, and toilets are available on site. Camping fee is $15 a night. The campground operates from May to October.

Agree with user 56482 - it's a nice campground but the highway traffic noise may be a problem. Clean bathrooms with flush toilets and pay showers.

Wilderness solitude it is not. Trucks hammering by on the 199 take care of that.You cant see them, which is cool, but if you get a site in the 30s you sometimes feel like the next thing you know one will come careening down the bank and run over your kids and your new Yeti. Aside from that, great campsite- space, shade, river access.

nice river access area w parking lot. 39 sites, some res, some fcfs. The host has free potable water, toilets work On may 30th mostly empty.
