Willow Creek Road, Sonoma County, California

Description

This is a roadside rest area and a trailhead to a hike up the hill beside the parking area. It's not state-park land, and therefore you're able to sleep here in your van or small RV for free, as per Sonoma county laws. There is a 'no tent' sign. No toilets or any facilities but it was nice and quiet and you could walk around the corner to Willow Creek campground if you're desperate.

Edit to previous review. We slept here two nights in a row, second night the ranger knocked on our door at 6am and notified us that this site is state park land and there is no Overnight parking or camping allowed

Stayed here last night. No issues at all. Felt safe and it was super quiet. You need to be full self contained. The ranger around the corner at the campground told us it's fine to sleep in your vehicle outside of state park land in Sonoma county
