Description

A quiet refuge away from the hustle and bustle of the city with a total of 85 campsites. 15 of these are walk-in, tent-only sites that are set apart from the rest which can accommodate RVs, trailers, and tents. Tent sites are the best in this campground because they are located close to Sherwin Creek. Picnic tables, fire rings, bear boxes, vault toilets, and tap water are available in the campground. It opens early May, ahead of other campgrounds around Mammoth Lakes. Campers here usually hike the trail to Sherwin Lake where views of Mammoth Mountain can be seen. John Muir Wilderness can also be explored. All sites can be reserved through recreation.gov. Camping fee is $22.12 a night for 6 people. Maximum stay in the campground is 21 days.
