Snake Lake is one of the few campgrounds on the Mt. Hough Ranger District that allows OHV trail access directly from the campground. It offers 17 multi-use sites, with eight of them having corrals for equestrian campers. There are no hookups, and horses are allowed overnight in equestrian campsites only

This place is perfect for a free campsite! There are firepits, bear boxes, tables, and long drop toilets. The spaces are huge, in the middle of the forest, next to a small lake (which means lots of mosquitos, be prepared).
