Description
There is a total of 43 campsites at Whitney Portal campground that can either be reserved or walked in. Some sites can accommodate even RVs up to 35 feet. Fire wood, fire rings, piped water, and restrooms are provided in the camp. There are bear boxes, too, where you can properly store food to protect the bears roaming around the area.
Camping fee is $22 a night.

This campsite was surprisingly immaculately maintained. The bathrooms have air freshener and smell nice, the tent platforms spacious are groomed. Just remember to store your food correctly! Bears are very VERY active here. Do not underestimate them, they know how to target campers' food. They're not harmful, but they will be harmed by your food!
