Description
Locally known as Pillbox because of its history as a WWII Gunnery installation, Fletcher Cove offers easy public access with a public parking lot and being only a few hundred yards from the Solana Beach train station. It is an excellent recreational area for surfing, surf-fishing, swimming, body-boarding, jogging, and walking.
Visitors can even find public showers and restroom facilities, as well as picnic tables and a basketball court located on top of the bluffs next to the Marine Safety Department Headquarters.

Great spot with beach showers and roomy bathrooms. There was an electrical plug near the lower mezzanine tables, but it wasn't working when we tried it. A bit windy. Stairs and ramp down to the beach, nice lookout and nature spot. there's a kids playground and basketball courts too!
