Description
Bonita Cove is located near South Mission Beach at 1100 West Mission Bay Drive and is broken down to East and West for permit purposes.
West Bonita Cove can be permitted for up to 250 people and up to two inflatables. This site has a large playground with a tot lot and there is access to the water with a lifeguard on duty. Fire rings, picnic tables and barbecue grills are also located at this park.
The permit capacity for East Bonita Cove is 200 people with up to two inflatables. There is a comfort station with a beach rinse-off shower.
Available Hours4 a.m. to 10 p.m. (Parking lot closes at 10 p.m.)
NO CAMPING OR OVERNIGHT PARKING.

Two nights car camping. Relieved to find sports available in the evening. Rest rooms absinthe other lot. Busy, but quite.

The lot is very popular. I arrived around 10am and it was nearly empty. By noon it was full with 12+ cars driving around waiting for spots to open.

Slept here last night with car camping. At midnight police came and knocked on cars. Used torches to look into cars. We didnt open up - got a $52.50 fine in the morning. Dont know if it was just bad luck, but we wont stay here a second time.
