Description

Mono Lake Tufa State Natural Reserve is one of the rare places in the world that contain such a unique group of geologic features, as it was established to preserve the spectacular 'tufa towers,' or calcium-carbonate spires and knobs formed by interaction of freshwater springs and alkaline lake water. The reserve also protects the lake surface itself, as well as the wetlands and other sensitive habitat for millions of birds that feed and rest at Mono Lake each year. Visitors can go hiking, photograph some beautiful flora and faura, see different species of birds, swim, boat, and cross-country ski at this unusual lake. Photographers come from around the world to capture the interplay of light on the mountains, desert, and water.

Yep, it is really beautiful. You can walk to the beach and have a sit if you want. There are plenty of benches. Enjoy it!
