Description

Take in the 3.5-mile stretch of white beach with few tourists and no high rises at Ocean Beach. Located on the westernmost border of San Francisco, adjacent to Golden Gate Park, the beach is popular for strolling and flying kites. However, the water is frigid and the currents are hazardous for all but the most experienced surfers.

This is just a day use area, even tho there are still no signs, the ranger will come before midnight and kick everybody out. We saw people parking north at Safeway and at the beach parking

We saw some people stayed overnight on the left side of the road a bit further as well. But the place is really messy with garbage and toilet paper everywhere. So please be clean and tidy otherwise there can be sigh no overnight staying VERY SOON.

Great surfing beach, outside showers, many parking spots. We spent a night there And no problems. Its noise people are coming and leaving during the night. Surfers get here very early as well. Its handy if you need to stay in the city and dont wont to drive crazy miles just to get to the roadside stop.
