Description
Standing by its mission statement, the Amador Whitney Museum exists to promote an interest in the history and culture of the Mother Lode region among both locals and tourists.
Originally called the Kling Building, the building that houses the museum is considered the oldest commercial building in town as it dates back to 1860. Take a tour of the museum and see the city's actual old post office unit, which still has names listed on the boxes of residents or their descendants who continue to reside in Amador City.
