Description
It is the highlight of the Artists Drive Scenic Loop with all its colors naturally painted on the hills. Colors developed from volcanic deposits rich in compounds which then gives the rainbow illusion. While anytime is a good time to visit the Artists Palette, sunrise and sunset seem to be the best as it gives a different dimension to the colors.
The drive to this scenic spot starts at 8.5 miles south of Hwy 90 and Badwater Road junction. It is a good photo spot, with interpretive exhibits.
