Description
Also known as the Rainbow Bridge, the Donner Memorial Bridge is a concrete arch built during the 1920s near Donner Summit and was part of the historic US Route 40, the primary east-west highway for motorists traveling between San Francisco and Atlantic City in New Jersey.
Today, the bridge provides stunning vistas of Donner Lake, the Town of Truckee and the surrounding area of Donner Summit, and many visitors stop to take pictures and admire the view.
