Named the steepest street in Los Angeles, Eldred Street is on the northeastern edge of Mount Washington neighborhood. It is also the third steepest street in the whole United States. It has a grade of 33% and was constructed in the year 1912, long before Los Angeles mandated that no streets should have a grade steeper than 15%.
