Description
You can admire this huge geological feature from above or below. Above it, you can indulge in the majestic views of hills, San Joaquin Valley, and the wilderness once you finish climbing a 350-step stone stairway. There are handrails to keep you safe, but children must be attended at all times. As you climb, the air gets thinner.
To get here, you can ride the free shuttle from Giant Forest Museum to the Moro Rock parking area. The road is open for private vehicles on weekdays, but the parking easily gets full. Moro Rock is close during winter because of snow.

Handrails along the way make the climb relatively safe, though you should keep a close eye on small children because of steep dropoffs along the entire route. The hike can be strenuous; taking your time as you climb can help you adjust to the thinner air at higher elevations. In summer, free shuttles run from Giant Forest Museum to the Moro Rock parking area. On weekends,
