Description
Skull Cave is the most popular lava tube in Lava Beds National Monument, as it is only 580-feet-long. It is easy to find as it only 2 miles north of the visitor center, and there are signs along the road for it. There's also a parking lot near the entrance of the cave.
Be engulfed by the cave, and walk down stone steps and metal grating in the area. See icicles hanging from the ceiling of the cave due to the cold temperatures it holds.

This least challenging cave is 580 feet (177m) long. There is year round ice on the floor in the lower level.

No stooping required, many stairs take you right down into the cave. It is very cold in this cave.
