Description
A 1.9-mile trail that is at its best during Spring because all the wildflowers and cacti bloom during this season. It will take roughly an hour to hike, but you might want to stay longer so you can just sit on a boulder and admire the beauty of your surroundings.
You can access it through the North and West entrance of Joshua Tree National Park, but the West seems to be busier. From the North entrance, drive 7.3 miles into the park, then turn right onto Split Rock from Parker Blvd. The trailhead is just off the parking area.
There are signs all throughout the trail to help you find your way. Rock climbers love this trail as there are a lot of rock formations and boulders to climb. There is also a side trail to Face Rock which, as the name suggests, a rock feature that looks like a human face.
The trail itself is free, but park entrance fee must be paid.

Really nice moderate 2,5 mile loop! Distance includes short trip to amazing Face Rock. Took us 90 minutes and we saw a lot of lizards here! :-)
